Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Athens 2019 VBS! We are thrilled to have you join us! Journey to Athens is taking place from Monday, July 22nd – Friday, July 26th from 9am-4pm. There will also be a Celebration BBQ at 4pm on the Friday night and we’d love to have you stay if you can!
We are excited to announce that we are making some slight adjustments to accommodate more children this year. We have increased our capacity to allow for 160 kids! Praise God! In the MORNING the children who have completed JK – Grade 1 will be enjoying the VBS program and in the AFTERNOON will participate in a relaxed T’GO program. Children who have completed Grade 2 – Grade 5 will spend their MORNING participating in T’GO programming where they will chose two one hour electives. For the AFTERNOON, students who have completed Grade 2 – Grade 5 will participate in the VBS program.
There are many ways to get involved and we thank you for helping making this year a success by giving your time and energy to this program! We need you!

You will note from your Volunteer Registration a few important dates to mark in your calendar:
Thursday May 16, 7-9 pm Plan to Protect Training as well as Police Checks and other important information that we need for our files. Please make every effort to attend this training. If you have any questions, please call Elena at the church office.
May 27, June 3 and June 17, 7-9 pm Crafting/Prep Nights. We’ll make some decorations that will transform our Church into an Athens get-away! Hope to see many of you there.
Sunday June 9, 11:30-1:30 pm Volunteer Training! With some hands-on training, you’ll get inspired, energized, and equipped to make this years VBS – Journey to Athens, one of our best VBS experience yet!
This training will answer many questions you may have about the role that you may be considering in this year’s VBS. We’ll explore how this years VBS creates an environment in which kids can grow in friendship with God. We’ll also run through a Day Journey to Athens so you can see how it all fits together and to discover what it was like for Paul to risk everything, to share the truth of Jesus.
Each one of you is our greatest BLESSING! In you we see God’s love and sacrifice, his desire for people to know Jesus. The time and love that you share during VBS is going to stay in participants’ hearts. They’ll think about it often – the way you helped them, prayed with them read a verse, worshiped. You’ll make a lasting impression on so many kids.
Thank you!
