Lakeside’s leadership board consists of 6 elders, 5 of which have direct oversight over a particular ministry area. If you have any questions or need access to any resources as an attendee, ministry volunteer, or member at Lakeside feel free to approach an elder and ask!

Your current board consists of:

Chair:
Graham Borgdorff, has attended Lakeside for over 17 years with his wife Rebeka and children Annabelle, Isaac, and Gideon. Graham served on the board in several capacities including as the board’s vice-chair and chair in previous years. Graham also serves in ministry as a Sunday morning host,  assists with property management and has led small group studies.

Missions/Outreach (and Treasurer):
Bruce Vaillancourt, The Vaillancourts (Bruce and Cathy) are former members of Lakeside who returned to the Haliburton region and to membership here in 2019. Bruce is recently retired from a career in financial planning and we look forward to his insight into the financial matters of the church in addition to his regular spiritual duties as elder. Both Bruce and Kathy have been active in bible studies and LifeGroups.

Children and Youth:
Luke Lester, has been attending and serving at lakeside for many years having begun attendance when he was in grade school. He and his wife Emmy have two children (Callie and Alice). Luke has been active in music ministry, bible studies, and assisting with youth among other areas of service at Lakeside.

Worship and Prayer
Jonathan Kegel and his wife Beckie have been attending Lakeside for over 7 years with their children Micah, Adaya, and Eliana. Jonathan epitomizes the phrase “still waters run deep”, his calm and prayerful approach to leadership is an important characteristic on our board.

Stewardship:
Ken Bott, Ken and Grace Bott began worshipping and serving at Lakeside in the early months of the Covid-19 pandemic. Their enthusiasm for missions, participation in Life Groups, and volunteering in numerous ministry positions has been a real blessing to our church family over that time. Ken brings years of experience being an elder at his former church.

Discipleship and Care
Gord Forbes (Secretary), Gord has attended Lakeside for 20 years and has served on the elders’ board for several terms over that time. Gord has most recently been a part of the missions team, organizes and teaches in the Barnabas men’s group, and has also has led small groups, assisted in facility maintenance, and is eager to serve wherever he is needed.
