The Rich Man and Lazarus

What happens after we die? Do we just disappear? Do we all get the same reward? Does what we do and what we believe in this life make a  difference? Do we get a second chance? What can we expect? Jesus has a story to shed some light onto all of that. Knowing that many of His listeners had put their hope in false expectations of the afterlife, Jesus tells a parable about two very different people in this life, with two very different results in the next. He tells this story so that we are not unprepared or unaware of what is to come, and how to tell the difference between a true gospel and a false one.
