The Pharisee And The Tax Collector

When we stand before God, our sin is not actually our biggest danger. God has a solution for our sin, and it is available to everyone willing to come to Him. No, our greatest danger when standing before God is our own self-righteousness.  In the parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector, Jesus has every intent to shock His listeners with a new understanding of the outrageous nature of God’s grace, and the dangerous predicament our self-righteous thinking can put us in.
