Reconciled For God’s Glory
Jesus has come, the Apostle Paul says, to break down the walls of hostility becoming for us our peace. In this way Paul points to a great mystery seen in God’s church when it is working as intended – very different people love and forgive each other. Liberals and Conservatives, vegetarians and meat eaters, cat people and dog people, hunters and pacifists, brothers and sisters, husbands and mothers-in-law! In Christ we share a common unity and peace that has been made by Jesus Christ. That is healthy and good for us, of course, but even more incredibly, Paul goes on to say that every time the church shows unity and reconciliation, it is putting his wisdom and glory on display for heavenly powers. Never think again that the kindness you show, or the forgiveness you offer is insignificant; it has cosmic repercussions for God’s glory as angels and demons marvel at His grace towards us. (Ephesians 3:10)
