Poverty and Social Justice

Speaker:

Poverty and Social Justice
Scripture teaches us that poverty is not simply a lack of material goods or shelter. In fact poverty has it’s roots deeply  intertwined into issues of society and justice. Proverbs says “Wealth attracts many friends, but even the closest friend of the poor person deserts them.” (19:4) and  “A poor man’s field may produce abundant food, but injustice sweeps it away.” (13:23). If there is going to be a biblical response to the need we see around us everyday, as Christians it has to start with relationship, and protection. The last of our summer You Asked For It series looks at a biblical approach to addressing poverty.
