Hostile to Holy
Hostile to Holy (Colossians 1:1-23)
Opening his letter to the church in Colossae, the Apostle Paul has one thing in mind. The preeminence and supremacy of Jesus Christ over all things, including us. And Paul has one result of that supremacy in mind – that because Jesus has all authority over heaven and earth, from beginning to end, He is more than sufficient to end our alienation from God, and to turn our hostility into holiness. This is the gospel or “good news” Paul longs for his Christian friends to place all their hope in. Our qualification for inclusion as children of God is rooted in what Christ is able to do, and has already done for those that put their trust in Him.
