God Speaks
For roughly 28 chapters Job has been asking God to answer his summons to court, and to speak up for himself. In the final chapters of the book Job gets all that he bargained for. God does appear, and does speak. In a torrent of rhetorical questions God shifts the ground beneath Job’s feet and corrects his self-centered perspective. As it turns out, this is exactly what Job needed. This encounter paves the way for a renewed relationship with God, restored friendships, and the redemption of Job’s life.
