God Is Primarily Beautiful
Everyone is beset by circumstances that reveal our need for God. We want Him to act in us and in our lives; as we should and as He desires too. But it would be dangerous to let that lead us into loving God because He is primarily useful, rather than primarily beautiful. Beset by enemies, adversaries, and wars, David says, “One thing I have asked… to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord.” — Do we find God primarily beautiful to us? Is to see His beauty the one thing we would think to ask of Him?
