Burden Lifting With Love
It is a common complaint that “religion” adds too many burdens or requirements onto people who are already struggling. And if that were true of a Christian church it would be a fair complaint. But if the church is working as intended, as the Apostle Paul describes in Galatians chapter 6, then it will be a place of burden lifting not burden making. God’s people lift burdens, they don’t add to them. This week we examine ways in which we can be guilty of adding burdens to those that are struggling and then ways in which we are called to lift them instead.
