Being A Servant Of God
When we think of being a “servant” we often think of Alfred the butler with a silver tray, or perhaps a household maid scrubbing floor, maybe a pool-boy, or a gardener. It’s easy to feel insignificant as a “servant”. As though what we can do for such a rich or powerful person is insignificant; they are so much more capable, they don’t really need us. How much more so to be a servant of God! Paul even says in Acts 17 “God does not live in temples of man, nor is served by human hands…” God surely doesn’t need us. So what does it mean to be called as God’s servant? It can’t mean we polish His silver or wash His Lamborghini… so what is it?
