Ageing and the Elderly
By the time we reach retirement we have heard the messages from commercials, investment banks, magazines, and retirement communities ten thousand times. This is the time of your life to relax: you have earned it, stay young, have fun, it’s your second childhood. If there is no heaven to come and no joy in knowing Jesus now, then we must manufacture some kind happiness and heaven here in our final days. There are two calls made to us as we age – the call of the world, and the call of God. Does how we age and treat our elders send the message that God is glorious, or that golf is glorious?
