Lakeside’s leadership board consists of 6 elders, 5 of which have direct oversight over a particular ministry area. If you have any questions or need access to any resources as an attendee, ministry volunteer, or member at Lakeside feel free to approach an elder and ask!

Your current board consists of:

Chair:
Graham Borgdorff has attended Lakeside for over 20 years with his wife Rebeka and children Annabelle, Isaac, and Gideon. Graham serves in ministry as a Sunday morning host, teaching Kids Church, and Life Groups. As chair Graham is responsible for managing and leading the board in their duties as well as general meetings and fielding any general inquiries.

Missions/Outreach (and Treasurer):
Bruce Vaillancourt, The Vaillancourts (Bruce and Cathy) are former members of Lakeside who returned to the Haliburton region and to membership here in 2019. Bruce is recently retired from a career in financial planning and we look forward to his insight into the financial matters of the church in addition to his regular spiritual duties as elder. Both Bruce and Kathy have been active in bible studies and LifeGroups.

Children and Youth:
Dan Fahrun has attended Lakeside over 10 years with his wife Becky and children Isaac and Gemma. Dan serves at times leading Life Group, teaching Kids Church, and hosting on Sundays. Dan oversees and can respond to questions regarding our children‘s ministry and youth programs

Worship and Prayer
Luke Lester has attended Lakeside most of his life, joined by his wife Emmy and their daughters Cali and Alice. Luke serves on the Music Team and is a leader / teacher in Jr. Youth ministry. Luke has oversight over Worship and Prayer and can be approached regarding the structure and content of Sunday morning, special worship events, and monthly and annual days of prayer.

Stewardship:
Steve Archibald has attended Lakeside with his wife Beth for over 20 years. Steve serves as a Life Group leader with Beth and they have often taught parenting seminars together. Steve has served on the board numerous times in the bast both as chair and with oversight of property and finances. As Elder with oversight of stewardship you can approach Steve with specific questions about staff, the physical property, or church operations.

Discipleship and Care
Gord Forbes (Secretary), Gord has attended Lakeside for 20 years and has served on the elders’ board for several terms over that time. Gord has most recently been a part of the missions team, organizes and teaches in the Barnabas men’s group, and has also has led small groups, assisted in facility maintenance, and is eager to serve wherever he is needed.
