Thanksgiving Shadow And Substance

What does the bible have to say about enjoying festivals, family, friends, good food and drink on feast days? The early church was born out of a Jewish faith with many meaningful feasts and into a Roman culture of many pagan and cultural festivals. So where does the new Christian community fit in?  The Apostle Paul guides his Christian friends in his letter to the Colossians… “Don’t let anyone judge you on questions of food and drink, or in regard to festivals, or new moons, or sabbath. These are just a shadow of things to come… the substance is Christ!” – So this Thanksgiving we unpack a little bit about what Paul has to say about food, drink, and festivals… and the substance that is casting these shadows.
